Back in 2023, the Oregon Legislature passed Senate Bill (SB) 1089 which created the Universal Health Plan Governance Board (OUHPGB). This bill charged the governance board with developing a comprehensive plan to finance and administer a universal health plan, which is due to the legislature no later than September 15, 2026.

The OUHPGB was launched in April 2024 and the process has been moving steadily forward ever since. To explain their progress so far, we will have Michelle Glass from the OUHPGB Community Engagement and Communications Committee as our guest speaker. How realistic is the goal? Can it be done?
