The Questionnaire
We've just sent out our 2026 Candidate Questionnaire!
This year's Questionnaire has two Health Care Champion (HCC) qualifying questions, plus several more to determine your candidates' positions on and plans for health care in Washington state. We will post results prior to ballots dropping on July 17. Find your legislative and congressional districts here.
These are the questions, with the HCC qualifiers in bold.
- Where do health care issues rank on your list of priorities?
- Would you publicly pledge to help support a publicly funded Universal Health Care system in Washington State?
- Do you believe a universal health care system should be publicly funded, available to all residents, affordable, and sustainable?
- What areas of the healthcare system are you most interested in improving? Why?
- Despite the current lack of federal support or action on Universal Health Care, there are still things that can be done by the state legislature to move us closer to a single payer, universal health care system.
Would you support efforts to move our state Medicaid enrollees from the current managed care system into a fee for service system, which is estimated to improve patient access to care and save our state budget millions of dollars ? - The state currently purchases healthcare through multiple programs (PEBB/SEBB, Medicaid, etc). Would you support combining the purchasing of healthcare in order to gain competitive purchasing power?
- What do you think the most significant problems are with our state health care system?
- What ideas do you have for improving health care access and quality and affordability in our state?
- Please share any other thoughts you may have on health care in Washington State.
Stay tuned to see what your candidates have to say about your health care!
Please support the organization that is leading on these and other efforts to bring
'Everybody In, Nobody Out' healthcare to our state.
