Dear Rep. Khanna,
Thank you for re-introducing the State-Based Universal Care Act this fall. It is vital to getting state legislators to embrace state-based single-payer health care plans. Legislators need to be reassured that the federal waiver process will be streamlined and that federal health care funds will be available for state-based plans.
It may fall to individual states to lead on this effort. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, co-sponsor of the Medicare for All Act of 2019, supports advocating at the national and the state levels. We have to keep fighting for universal health care from every angle.
